NeXUS is pleased to welcome Joohyung Park as our new Research Scientist specializing in the ARPES system. Joohyung received a B.S. in Chemistry and Physics at Chung-Ang University in South Korea and subsequently earned an M.S. in Chemistry at the same institution. He joined the Monti group at the University of Arizona and received a Ph.D. in Chemistry. Under his advisor’s guidance, Joohyung’s research focused on investigating intriguing physical phenomena in chemically modified quantum materials using photoemission spectroscopy. Prior to joining NeXUS, Joohyung also played a central role in commissioning the NanoESCA (a type of momentum microscope) and an imaging spin filter in the Monti group. Outside of work, Joohyung enjoys astrophotography, hiking, and pulling out espresso shots.
