Roland Kawakami, Physics professor and NeXUS Facility co-PI, is leading one of two projects at Ohio State that have been awarded funding through the US Department of Energy's Genesis Mission.  The goal of the Genesis Mission is o double America’s scientific productivity through DOE’s world-class scientific capabilities, advanced AI, high-performance computing and the nation’s leading researchers.

As part of Phase One of the mission, Dr. Kawakami's project will unite researchers at Ohio state, University of Southern California, Yale University, Argonne National Laboratory, and Intel to investigate AI for orbital electronics materials and manufacturing.
